The Soldeed Show

Season 17 had its peaks and valleys, and it’s rather unfortunate that the final story to Douglas Adams’ tenure as story editor (as well as a number of other ‘final moments’) was squarely in the middle of the plains. For every bombastic, ridiculously wonderful scene with Soldeed, there’s another where the energy is middling, the dialog merely treads water, or the adversaries are far from threatening. We discuss the (then incomplete) missing story “Shada” that could have left us with a higher overall impression of the season, and theorize on how the stories crested early, and tapered in degree of interest if not quality as the season progressed.
