For many of us, this science fiction adventure story has been one that stays rooted in heart and mind for its emotional impact…and those emotions are not always happy ones. We are sentient beings that wire our strongest memories to mark important moments, and for reasons that psychologists could argue for as long as anyone cared to listen, a great number of those moments that we deem important are ones that have hurt us.
