We look back at the 34th installment of Gallifrey One and share our thoughts on the convention offerings, the energy, and the experience.
With the experiences of the 2023 convention behind us, each member of the GPR team (along with one bonus perspective) take a few minutes to share their personal highlights.
We’re a week from travel to Los Angeles, where we have so, so, so many options to entertain and inform us at North America’s largest Doctor Who convention.
Left untended, and with inspiration from one of our favorite (and most playfully argumentative) convention panel “games”, we establish a single-elimination competition among those who are not ‘categorical’ companions of the Doctor.
After four days of con activity (and as many days recovery rest), we evaluate the challenges and successes of the 32nd installment of North America’s largest Whovian convention.
After three (plus) days of panels, games, music, laughs, drinks, and reconnections with a massive Whovian family, we look at everything that the 30th anniversary of Gallifrey One has given us.

In spite of the bags unpacked (and bags under our eyes), we recap just the smallest sliver of what made this Los Angeles convention something not only entertaining, but poignant and important as well. See you next year, for what we imagine will be a 30th anniversary […]

Low-budget limitations on effects, rushed plot devices, possibly a poorly-cast extra who can’t seem to keep from pulling focus, even as a dead body. But then there are the exemplary stories, the ones where the acting, pacing, story concept, and the precarious balance of action and wit all add up to a pitch-perfect viewing experience. We may gush a bit, like so many […]
Consider it the family reunion you actually want to attend each year — we return to the corridors and conference rooms of the Los Angeles Marriott, and the 27th iteration of the Gallifrey One convention. Joined (this time in person!) by Alyssa of Whovian Feminism, we recap our personal highlights of the weekend, console one another on our mutual exhaustion, and revel in all the memories we take with us on our respective travels homeward. From child cosplayers who delighted […]
