Season 20 drops us into the middle of a right mess: identity theft on Gallifrey, terror in the Netherlands, and a certain renegade Time Lord.

We delve into the seemingly disjointed aspects of the story that hold our interest in trying to discern how they fit; the “oh dear, she’s back” reaction from the Doctor upon Tegan’s return; the astonishingly high level of what-are-you-talking-about pseudoscience that still doesn’t throw us off; and how we can head-canonize the casting of Colin Baker as Maxil, knowing we’ll see him in a very short while as the Doctor himself.
